Presidents Message

Nov-News-Pres-2

It’s been an exciting two months for your Chamber! The Board and I have been listening to your thoughts, concerns, ideas, and suggestions—please keep them coming.

We hosted a very well-attended State of the Valley luncheon in October featuring a panel of education administrators who discussed their workforce development programs here in the Valley. We also had a candidate forum for the Lewiston City Council race. We supported two amazing Business After Hours (shout-out to Stonebraker McQuary and Tri-State Health) and celebrated the new direct Delta flight from Lewiston to Seattle. We will be hard at work behind the scenes the next two months improving your Chamber.

We are revamping our member benefits—offering more member visibility, exclusive access to marketing and growth opportunities, enhanced monthly communications, business related workshops, networking and more. During this time of transition, we want to hear from you. We can’t be the voice of our members without your input! Please take this 5-minute survey to help us determine what you want to see from your chamber, and also how the gas outage affected your business:

We are also upgrading our software systems for an improved user experience. This means that our current email list will disappear. If you stop receiving communications from us, it means your membership is either not active, or we don’t have your current email. Please call or email our office if this happens—with over 5,000 people in our database, someone is bound to get lost, and we don’t want it to be you! Additionally, we are launching this newsletter with some new sections that mirror our FLAME (Financial Strength, Leadership, Advocacy, Membership, Entrepreneurship) strategic plan, including a member spotlight, content from government officials and an events section. We hope you like the new format!

Finally, we are hiring! If you know of anyone who has a passion for our local business commu-nity, please send them our way. Here is a link to the job description. And stay tuned for a few more surprises in the works… we can’t wait to share with you all that is in store for 2024!
